The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Kelyan, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, which operates Aldus. By creating an account or using Aldus you accept them. If you use Aldus for a company, you accept them for that company and confirm you may do so.
The Privacy policy says how your information is handled.
What Aldus is
Aldus is a royalty ledger. You import the report files you download from your store account, and Aldus shows what they contain, with the source of every number.
- Early access
- Aldus is in early access. Features may change, and a feature may be withdrawn.
- Planned features
- Anything labelled planned or coming is a statement of intent, not a promise that it will ship.
Your account
- You sign in with a code sent to your email address. Keep that mailbox under your control.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account.
- You must be an adult able to enter a contract where you live.
- Tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
Your data
Aldus is provided to authors and publishers for their own data. What you import stays yours.
- You import only reports from your own store account, or from an account whose owner has asked you to.
- You allow Aldus to store and process what you import for one purpose: providing Aldus to you.
- You can export your ledger and delete your imported data at any time, from Settings.
Your store account and its terms
You stay responsible for your store account and for keeping to the terms you agreed with the store. Those terms still apply to you when you use Aldus, including any rules about sharing your sales reports.
- No store has reviewed Aldus or agreed to its use. Whether Aldus fits your store’s terms is your decision.
- Aldus never asks for your store password or cookies and never signs in to your store account.
- Aldus is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon.
Estimates are estimates
- A figure marked estimated is an estimate. It can change, and it can differ from what a store finally pays.
- Aldus shows what is in the reports you import. If a report is wrong or missing, your ledger is too.
- Nothing in Aldus is accounting, tax, legal or financial advice.
Check a figure against your store’s own statement before you rely on it for a tax return, a contract or a payment.
What you agree not to do
- Import data you have no right to use.
- Try to reach another customer’s data.
- Probe or disrupt the service, other than as the Security page allows.
- Resell Aldus, or use it to build a competing data set.
- Use Aldus to break the law.
Price
- Today
- Aldus is free during early access. No payment details are asked for.
- Later
- Pricing will be announced before any charge. You will not be charged unless you choose a paid plan.
Ending
- You may stop using Aldus at any time, and delete your data.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other customers at risk.
- If we stop offering Aldus, we will give you notice first, so you can export your ledger.
No warranty
Aldus is provided as it is and as it is available. To the extent the law allows, Kelyan, LLC gives no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and does not promise that Aldus will be uninterrupted or free of error.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Kelyan, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, arising from Aldus or these terms. This includes any action a store takes concerning your store account.
Its total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of what you paid for Aldus in the twelve months before the claim and one hundred US dollars. Some laws do not allow these limits, and where they do not, the limits apply only as far as the law permits.
Governing law
The laws of the State of Delaware govern these terms, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Disputes are heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless the law where you live gives you a right to bring them elsewhere that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. If a change is material, we will tell you in Aldus or by email before it takes effect. Using Aldus after that date means you accept the new terms.
General
- These terms and the pages they link to are the whole agreement about Aldus.
- If one part cannot be enforced, the rest stays in force.
- Not enforcing a term once does not give it up.
- You may not transfer this agreement without our consent. We may transfer it with the business.
